Cognition is "the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. "It encompasses processes such as knowledge, attention, memory and working memory, judgment and evaluation, reasoning and "computation", problem solving and decision making, comprehension and production of language, etc.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a better use of our brain to control our visceral, autonomic nerves system and motor action using the dorsal part of brain. The ventral portion of brain controls the paths from frontal lobe to the hypothalamus, and other Olympic structures.
What gives us the ability to handle our encounters? What separates us from Apes and Neanderthals?
In about 1000 CC of our (small) brain area we have the ability to figure things out. We can recognize and associate. Our reasoning abilities allowing us to track very complicated social relationships. We can interpret things that other (big brain) animals can’t. When we see a footprint or paw print we assume danger, whereas the ape has to see what made the print in order to assume the danger.
With that area of our brain and the proper anatomy for language, prepositions, and causations we are able to communicate above their primitive language to our associative language. For example, I can tell you where I am without letting the enemy know, where a Neanderthal might yell out or grunt and give his position away. Though a Neanderthal had a quantitatively bigger brain but something may have been missing in the common sense portion of the brain.
Serious mass training, when repeated enough, can induce neuroplasticity of the brain.
-Categories Proven or promise that help brain management.
-Training of working memories (spatial location maintained and manipulated in the mind to be retrieved later)
-Meditation – mindful and space relaxation therapy and stress reduction and overall sense of well-being.

(CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a most effective type of therapy.
Here are the exercises you will be working:
-
(CPT) Cognitive Processing Therapy,
-
(EFT) Emotional Freedom Techniques.
-
(PT) Physical or Play Therapy or Role Play
-
(ET) Exposure therapy In exposure therapy, you are exposed to the physical sensations in a safe and controlled environment, giving you the opportunity to learn healthier ways of coping.
-
(PE) Prolonged Exposure
-
(EMDR) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing that has proven to work for PTSDs.
-
(MSRT) Mindful and Space Relaxation Therapy
-

Medications known as a ‘Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor’ (SSRI) have been shown to be effective.
I must stress ’DO NOT STOP TAKING MEDICATIONS!’
If you are on medications you must wean off so not to cause withdrawl symptoms or disrupt the
body chemistry which must slowly rebuild.
